A Critical Discourse Analysis of Entrepreneurship |
Abstract:
Entrepreneurship has emerged in recent years as a distinct voice. This new voice expresses some special problems that cannot be indifferent to them. Entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon has become a discourse that has been around for three decades by the media and policymakers and discussed at universities. In this article, those studies which show hegemonic dominance of positivism on entrepreneurship and aim to critique the hegemony of European schools and alternative viewpoints are presented. Entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial minorities and women (feminists) are a sample of entrepreneurs working out of the hegemony of functionalism and individualism for a critical study. The overall objective of this study was to assess the current and traditional approaches in entrepreneurship research and emphasized the critical need for an alternative research framework for future research in entrepreneurship. Critical framework for analyzing the outcomes of entrepreneurship research, and future research is emphasized. This study follows a critical and interpretive research tradition and the heart of the entrepreneurial discourse, which lies at the foundation of this study, is analyzed and criticized. Finally, the researchers wanted to enhance the creativity of their research and methodologies further which could be better than adopting the tradition of positivism.
